As a Professor of Molecular Nutrition and Metabolism at Cambridge University, my primary focus is leading research as a Principal Investigator at the Medical Research Council Metabolic Diseases Unit (MRC MDU) and the Wellcome  Sanger Institute. I also serve as the Scientific Director of the Cambridge Phenomics Center, specializing in advanced murine metabolic phenotyping, and as an Honorary Consultant in Metabolic Medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. My lab, the TVPLab, explores the molecular mechanisms linking obesity to insulin resistance, diabetes, and cardiometabolic complications, aiming to identify new therapeutic pathways.
