The Hong Kong Institute of Advanced Studies (HKIAS), Sun Yat-sen University, and TVP Lab, led by Professor Antonio Vidal-Puig, have officially established the Sino–UK Kangyi Joint Laboratory of Immunometabolism. This milestone marks a new phase of deepened collaboration between China and the UK in the fields of immunometabolism and cardiovascular metabolism.

This strategic partnership is jointly advanced by Professor Anlong Xu, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Advanced Studies, Sun Yat-sen University, and Professor Antonio Vidal-Puig, a world-leading expert in metabolic research at the University of Cambridge. Building on complementary strengths in basic research, translational medicine, and clinical relevance, the joint laboratory aims to create a globally influential research platform in immunometabolism.
Looking Ahead

The establishment of the Sino–UK Kangyi Joint Laboratory of Immunometabolism represents a significant milestone in the collaboration between the Hong Kong Institute of Advanced Studies, Sun Yat-sen University, and TVP lab. It lays a solid foundation for long-term, in-depth, and sustainable cooperation in immunometabolism and cardiovascular metabolism research. Moving forward, the joint laboratory will continue to integrate high-level basic research with translational and clinical studies, aiming to generate internationally impactful discoveries and to contribute Sino–UK scientific insight toward the prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases worldwide.
